Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

These terms govern your VARZ TCG account, online play, and use of our community features. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

Operator

VARZ TCG is operated by 株式会社VAZ (VAZ Inc.).

(Representative Director: Tetsuya Tani)
  • Tsukamoto Sozan Building 2F, 4-2-15 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0061, Japan

Who can use VARZ

VARZ is provided for personal, non-commercial play. You may use it if you are old enough to form a binding agreement where you live.

If you are a minor, or if the law where you live otherwise requires the consent of a parent, guardian or other legal representative for you to agree to these terms or to provide personal data, you may use VARZ only with that consent. By using VARZ in those circumstances you confirm that it has been given.

Your account

Accounts are created by signing in with Discord or Google. There are no VARZ passwords, so keeping your account secure means keeping that provider account secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account.

One account per person. Do not share, sell or transfer an account, and do not create additional accounts to evade a suspension or to manipulate rankings.

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. What that removes and what is kept in de-identified form is described in the Privacy Policy.

Fair play

VARZ is a competitive game with rankings. While playing, do not:

  • use bots, scripts, macros or any automation to play, queue, or interact with the game server
  • exploit bugs to gain an advantage, and do report serious ones instead of using them
  • interfere with the game client or server, or send requests the client would not send
  • arrange results, throw matches, or use additional accounts to inflate a rating — yours or anyone else’s
  • deliberately abandon or stall matches to deny an opponent a result

Community conduct

Display names, deck names, profile text and anything else you write are visible to other players. Do not use them for harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content involving minors, impersonation, advertising, or anything unlawful.

We may change or remove a display name or other user-submitted text that breaks these rules.

Your content

The rights you hold in the deck lists, deck names, profile text and other content you create or post on VARZ remain yours.

Card art, card names, characters, rules text, game screens and the other materials and intellectual property that VARZ provides belong to VAZ Inc. or to the respective rights holders. Nothing in this section transfers any of those rights to you.

When you publish a deck to the community, share a replay link, or otherwise set content to public, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, reproduce, display, distribute, transmit to the public and feature that published content, for the purposes of providing, operating and improving the service and of introducing and publicising VARZ.

That licence includes featuring published decks, replays and other content on the official VARZ website, official social media accounts, the official Discord, the newsletter, Kickstarter and other crowdfunding pages, and in videos, livestreams and other official channels we operate or use.

To feature content in those places we may take screenshots, resize, crop or re-lay out images, convert formats, translate, add explanatory captions, and make other minor edits that do not alter the substance of the content. We may also credit the display name shown at the time of publication as its creator.

If we want to use content you have published as a testimonial or endorsement in paid advertising, or as a principal asset of a paid advertisement, we will obtain your separate permission before doing so.

The licence normally lasts for as long as the content is published. If you later unpublish or delete the content, social media posts, videos, news articles and other promotional material already published may reasonably remain as they are.

Sharing a replay produces a share link. Anyone who has the link may be able to watch it, so treat a replay as something others can see once you have shared it.

A match is made by more than one player. Match history, results and other records that also concern your opponent may therefore be kept or displayed after you delete your account or unpublish your own content, with anonymisation or other appropriate handling.

(Your content)

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to VARZ, remove content, or reset ratings where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken — in particular for cheating, automation, or abuse of other players. Where it is practical and appropriate we will say why.

You can stop using VARZ at any time by deleting your account.

Availability and changes

VARZ is in active development. Features, rules, card effects and ratings may change, the service may be unavailable for maintenance, and parts of it may be altered or discontinued. Game data such as decks and ratings may be reset when balance or systems change; we will give notice where a change is significant.

Third-party services

VARZ relies on services operated by others — Discord and Google for sign-in, Kickstarter for the campaign, Mailchimp for the newsletter, and Tabletop Simulator for physical-style play. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them.

Intellectual property

The VARZ name, logo, card art, characters, world, rules text, and the software that runs the game belong to VARZ TCG and its creators. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create commercial derivatives of them except where we expressly permit it — for example the official Print & Play materials, which are for personal play.

Sharing screenshots, replays, streams and videos of your own play is welcome and encouraged.

Disclaimers and liability

VARZ is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that game data will never be lost.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VARZ TCG and its creators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost ratings or lost profits, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as VARZ develops. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and we will give notice in the app or by email before a change that materially affects your rights. Continuing to use VARZ after a change means you accept it.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of VARZ are governed by the laws of Japan.

The parties agree to the Tokyo District Court or the Tokyo Summary Court, as the court of exclusive jurisdiction of first instance. Nothing here deprives a consumer of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which they live.
